About Us and the Role:

At BlueShift, we aim to remove gigatons of CO2 from the ocean and atmosphere and extract valuable critical minerals from industrial waste. BlueShift unlocks rapid scalability by integrating proprietary membrane-free electrochemical technology from the University of Michigan and University of Massachusetts Amherst with additive manufacturing and existing infrastructure.

The candidate is expected to value working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative environment with a small and agile team. This position will report to the Chief of Science and Operations and Senior Chemical/Process Engineer.

This position may be offered as an internship, contract to full time, or full time role.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in chemical engineering or process engineering
  • Experience identifying and optimizing for cost, efficiency, and quality
  • Experience modeling in Ansys, Comsol or a similar software
  • Great to have: Knowledge of carbon removal, process intensification, flow battery technology, electrodialysis, and hydrometallurgical techniques such as leaching, solvent extraction, and ion exchange
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
