The role and what you will be doing
You'll join our client's newly established local Strategic Finance/FP&A team and will lead the team to create a specialized group working directly with the Exec team.
As the Head of Corporate Strategy and FP&A, you will report to the Chief Financial Officer with a high level of autonomy and responsibility, and exposure to our Executive and Senior Leadership teams and influencing decisions.
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Lead the FP&A function, including forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis.
- Provide financial analysis and modelling to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Translate the company's strategy into financial targets by developing a deep understanding of the business model.
- Own the multi-year financial model and use this model to support the planning and forecasting processes across the company.
- Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., Exec, our Senior Leadership team, and Finance teams) to gain insight and inputs / drivers for scenario planning.
- Work on special ad hoc projects to support senior management. Manage and support the development of a newly formed and growing FP&A team of currently x2 individuals.
- Specific strategic evaluation actively monitor and formulate the businesses strategy regarding specific market developments and their likely impact on Policy Expert.
- Help assess and challenge our business plans using financial and non-financial data to make educated recommendations to the Exec team.
- Manage a mix of discrete strategy projects, which typically involves the following activities:
-Scope, plan and structure the project
- Manage the analysis required (either directly or with members of your team)
- Be the primary day-to-day driver of the content and output, accountable to the Executive team and main stakeholders in the business
- Engage with stakeholders across the business to get their perspectives, share analysis and findings, and iterate on output as needed
- Support facilitation of approval and delivery of strategic initiatives
- Build compelling written presentations and communications for the Execs and board.
The core attributes we would value in this role are:
- Accountancy qualification (desirable) with solid experience leading an FP&A function.
- Highly proficient in financial modelling.
- Ability for strategic thinking, proven ability to analyse markets, performance data, and business issues.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, you'll adapt and tailor to a range of audiences at all levels.
- Experience implementing forecasting and reporting systems would be highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills to drive the performance of your team.
- A positive mindset with a hunger to understand how the business works.
