Senior Python Fullstack Developer

Job Description

The client is a global investment management firm that specializes in systematic investment strategies.

Responsibilities:

- Build and enhance internal web applications using React, TypeScript, and Material UI
- Develop and maintain Python back-end services and APIs (FastAPI) that power portfolio analytics and management workflows
- Integrate with our investment data platform (REST API, Polars/PyArrow for data processing)
- Build data transformation and aggregation layers that surface portfolio, risk, and performance data in interactive UIs
- Work with modern Python tooling: uv for package management, pytest, Pydantic for data models, httpx for API clients
- Collaborate closely with portfolio managers and researchers to translate business needs into working software
- Participate in code review, CI/CD (GitLab), and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes/ArgoCD)
- Contribute to architecture decisions as the platform evolves from legacy on-prem systems to cloud-native (AWS)

Qualifications:

- Strong Python skills — FastAPI or similar async frameworks, data transformations, building services that are reliable and well-tested
- Experience with React and TypeScript (Material UI a plus)
- Familiarity with modern data processing libraries (Polars, PyArrow, or Pandas) for working with large datasets
- Experience with containerized deployments (Docker, K8s) and Git-based CI/CD
- Self-directed, able to take ownership of features end-to-end
- Experience in financial services or quantitative environments preferred but not required
- Good communication skills — this is a collaborative, small-team environment
