Sr. Test Engineer

AlphaHire is on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Test Engineer to play a pivotal role in our team. This position is key to providing technical leadership and hands-on expertise in system design, particularly for testing the complex Focal Plane Array (FPA) Testing program at Teledyne Imaging Sensors. The role involves a deep dive into characterizing, testing, and evaluating infrared focal plane arrays, ensuring top-notch quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Innovate and develop new methodologies and approaches for FPA testing.
• Lead the development of test stations from their conceptual stage to production release, aligning with requirements from System Engineering or customers.
• Engage in hands-on construction of test equipment, including electronics and dewars.
• Conduct tests on infrared and visible FPAs to validate test systems and assist in the debugging and tuning of new ROICs, ASICs, and detectors.
• Create comprehensive test procedures and work instructions.
• Analyze test data and present findings in reports and presentations to program managers, internal engineering teams, and customers.
• Offer pre and post-sale customer support, including helping with requirements definition and concept of operations development.
• Perform post-delivery debugging and optimization of device performance in customer environments.
• Regularly interact with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for data tracking and reporting.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).
• In-depth understanding of infrared detector performance and test system development.
• Knowledge of Read Out Integrated Circuit (ROIC) operation and test system operation.
• Expertise in IR FPA performance testing.
• Ability to specify hardware/software requirements.
• Experience in hardware integration and validation.
• Familiarity with cryogenic test systems.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas both in writing and verbally.
• Independent work style, with considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
• Ability to manage multiple challenging and unstructured responsibilities.

Educational Requirements:

• A Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, coupled with ten (10) years of experience in sensor systems integration and testing.
• Experience in supervising department staff.
