Deli Assistant Manager Cork City 

My client who operates a busy food store, is in search of an experienced Deli Supervisor or Assistant Manager to carry out managerial duties in one of their busy fresh food departments. We are looking for a passionate foodie, someone with a background in catering, deli, and cafe customer-facing environments at Supervisor level, and would like to be involved in a busier more robust operation that will offer room for progression. 

Typically early shifts, daytime hours no later than 4pm. Will consider someone seeking only Monday to Friday. 

Our client is seeking someone who can work to a high standard, train new colleagues and set a good standard among the team, run the department under the supervision of the Deli Manager or General Manager. 

This job will pay DOE upwards of 37,500 DOE. 

The ideal candidate for this Deli Supervisor Job:

• Previous experience working with food in a busy high pressured environment,
• Ideally have good stock control experience, placing orders for different fresh food produce, or some understanding of placing orders.
• Must come from a good retail or catering environment, driven on good customer service, cleanliness and merchandising fresh food displays.
• Strong organisational skills
• Be able to work both in a team and on your own initiative.
• Must be competent with food safety and HACCP requirements.

Responsibilities for this Deli Supervisor Job:

• Supervise the delicatessen department, ready-made meals, hot counter, cold food offering and salad bar
• Responsible for up to 5 staff members, organizing work to be completed on time, and supervising the quality of people's work.
• Ensuring the department has the correct amounts of stock to trade for the week, using back office reports and feedback from management, to assess stock levels and reduce waste and shrinkage.
• Maintaining food safety protocols like hygiene records and HACCP records
• Maintaining the standards across all your assigned departments, ensuring your teams know the expectation of work required of them,
