Blue Forge Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading retail convenience forecourt brand, hiring for a senior Deli Manager for a shop that is within driving distance of Kildare town , Carlow town and Portlaoise.
A high performing fresh food department that offers a wide range of fresh made products including home cooked meals, and has a seating area is seeking a manager to lead a team of 5 full time staff and a part time team. Good retention within the store, and lead by a very experienced Retail Manager who has a strong fresh food background themselves. They have further plans to improve infrastructure to enable this department to grow, following already a significant investment in equipment only last year.
Salary DOE, will between 35,000 - 40,000, 40 hour contract and 50% food discount.
Staff discounts, bonus, and early shifts will be offered and typically every second weekend off.
The ideal candidate for this Deli Manager Job:
- Previous management experience working with food in a busy fast paced environment, more customer facing such as cafe, Deli, catering.
- Strong experience with stock control , managing orders for large quantities of different fresh food offerings.
- Good organisational skills, a background in achieving high standards with resources to manage
- Background in commercial targets would be an advantage but not essential, such as waste figures, profit margins and sales
- Must have experience in a team environment, previous experience supervising colleagues work and standards
- A good understanding of food safety and HACCP knowledge, cooking and quality control
Responsibilities for this Deli Manager Job:
- Oversee the running of busy deli production, ready made meals, hot counter, cold food offering and salad bar
- Responsible for up 5 staff members, organizing work to be completed on time and to a high standard within the budgets available
- Ensuring the department has the correct amounts of stock to trade for the week, using technology and sales reports to analyze stock levels and reduce waste and shrinkage.
- Maintaining food safety protocols like hygiene records and HACCP records
- Maintaining high standards in cleanliness, merchandising fresh food displays and customer service
- Training and coaching personnel to follow procedures and excel in their roles to increase department performances by increasing productivity and customer service.
