Job Overview: As a resort fitness instructor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional fitness services to resort guests, including leading fitness classes, conducting personal training sessions, and promoting overall wellness. Your role is crucial in enhancing guests' vacation experience by helping them achieve their health and fitness goals in a fun and engaging environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead Fitness Classes: Conduct a variety of fitness classes suitable for guests of all ages and fitness levels, such as yoga, Pilates, water aerobics, Zumba, and strength training. Create dynamic and motivating workouts that align with the resort's wellness offerings and guest preferences.
  2. Provide Personalized Training: Offer personalized fitness assessments and one-on-one training sessions to guests seeking individualized guidance. Develop tailored exercise programs based on guests' goals, abilities, and any specific health considerations.
  3. Promote Wellness Activities: Organize and promote wellness activities beyond traditional fitness classes, such as guided hikes, beach workouts, meditation sessions, and nutrition workshops. Collaborate with other resort departments to create holistic wellness experiences for guests.
  4. Engage and Motivate Guests: Interact with guests in a friendly and approachable manner, providing encouragement, support, and motivation to help them stay committed to their fitness goals during their stay. Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere in all fitness activities.
  5. Ensure Guest Safety: Prioritize guest safety by demonstrating proper exercise techniques, providing modifications as needed, and closely monitoring participants during classes and training sessions. Maintain a clean and safe workout environment, including proper equipment setup and sanitation protocols.
  6. Educate Guests on Health and Wellness: Share knowledge and expertise on topics related to fitness, nutrition, stress management, and overall well-being. Offer tips and recommendations for maintaining a healthy lifestyle both during their stay and beyond.
  7. Stay Informed on Industry Trends: Stay abreast of the latest trends, research, and developments in the fitness and wellness industry. Attend training sessions, workshops, and conferences to continuously improve skills and stay inspired.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: Hold a recognized certification in personal training or group fitness instruction
  • Experience: Previous experience as a fitness instructor or personal trainer, preferably in a hospitality or resort setting.
  • Personality: Friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic personality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate guests' schedules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to demonstrate exercises and perform physical activities for extended periods.
  • Lift and move equipment as needed.
  • Stand, bend, and move comfortably in outdoor and indoor environments.
