About the Role

BLR WORLD is hiring an Emirati Community Outreach & Events Coordinator to strengthen a leading museum's connection with local communities through meaningful engagement, partnerships, cultural programming, and public events. Reporting to the Programs Development Manager, the Community Outreach & Events Coordinator will lead the coordination and delivery of community-focused initiatives that celebrate the UAE's heritage, traditions, and cultural identity while expanding public participation and supporting Dubai Culture's strategic objectives.

The role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with government entities, schools, universities, cultural organisations, community groups, Emirati associations, and other strategic partners to increase participation in museum programmes and outreach initiatives. Working closely with the Programs Development Manager, Commercial Lead, Educational Programming Coordinator, and Operations Lead, the role will coordinate community events, outreach activities, cultural celebrations, volunteer initiatives, and public engagement programmes that enhance the museum's visibility, accessibility, and impact across the Emirate of Dubai.

As an Emirati representative, the role will also contribute valuable local cultural knowledge and community insight to ensure all outreach initiatives remain authentic, inclusive, and aligned with the values and heritage of the United Arab Emirates.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement

  • Develop and coordinate community outreach initiatives that strengthen relationships between Al Shindagha Museum and local communities.
  • Build long-term partnerships with government entities, schools, universities, cultural organisations, community groups, NGOs, and Emirati associations.
  • Promote museum programmes and encourage participation from diverse community audiences.
  • Represent BLR WORLD and Al Shindagha Museum at community meetings, networking events, and stakeholder engagement activities.

Outreach Programme Coordination

  • Coordinate outreach activities that extend the museum's educational and cultural impact beyond its physical locations.
  • Support the planning and delivery of mobile workshops, community activations, heritage initiatives, and educational outreach programmes.
  • Identify opportunities to engage underserved communities and promote inclusive access to museum experiences.
  • Coordinate logistics, schedules, resources, and stakeholder communications for outreach activities.

Events Coordination

  • Support the planning and delivery of community events, festivals, cultural celebrations, heritage programmes, and public activations.
  • Coordinate operational requirements with internal teams to ensure successful event execution.
  • Liaise with external partners, performers, suppliers, and community organisations throughout the planning process.
  • Ensure events are delivered safely, professionally, and in accordance with museum standards and operational procedures.

Partnership Development

  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with local organisations to support collaborative programming and community engagement.
  • Identify partnership opportunities that increase awareness of museum programmes and encourage repeat visitation.
  • Support sponsorship and collaborative initiatives alongside the Commercial Lead where appropriate.
  • Maintain regular communication with community stakeholders to strengthen long-term engagement.

Cultural Representation

  • Promote Emirati heritage, traditions, customs, and cultural values through community engagement activities.
  • Provide cultural insight and guidance during the development of outreach initiatives and public programmes.
  • Ensure outreach activities remain culturally authentic and aligned with Dubai Culture's vision.
  • Act as an ambassador for the museum within the local community.

Volunteer & Community Participation

  • Support the coordination of volunteer initiatives and community participation programmes.
  • Encourage community involvement in museum activities, festivals, workshops, and cultural events.
  • Assist with volunteer engagement, orientation, and participation during community programmes.

Communication & Promotion

  • Coordinate community communications relating to outreach activities and public events.
  • Work with the Commercial Lead and Programs Development Manager to promote museum initiatives through community networks and strategic partnerships.
  • Assist in developing promotional content, stakeholder communications, and engagement materials where required.

Quality Assurance & Continous Improvement

  • Monitor participation levels and community engagement outcomes across all outreach activities.
  • Collect participant feedback and evaluate programme effectiveness.

  • Recommend improvements to increase community participation, accessibility, and programme impact.
  • Ensure compliance with museum policies, safeguarding procedures, health and safety requirements, and operational standards.

Reporting 

Prepare and submit regular reports to the Programs Development Manager, including:

  • Community outreach activities delivered.

  • Partnership development updates.

  • Event participation statistics.

  • Community engagement performance.

  • Volunteer programme updates.

  • Stakeholder feedback.

  • Outreach programme outcomes.

  • Recommendations for future engagement initiatives.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in community engagement, public relations, cultural programming, event coordination, stakeholder engagement, or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating community programmes, public events, or cultural initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE culture, heritage, traditions, and community networks.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination abilities.

  • Experience working with government entities, educational institutions, or community organisations is desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality delivery.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working within museums, heritage sites, cultural institutions, or government organisations.
  • Familiarity with the entity's initiatives and community engagement strategies.
  • Experience supporting outreach programmes, festivals, and public events.
  • Experience coordinating volunteers or community participation initiatives.
  • Existing network within Dubai's cultural and community sectors is advantageous.

Required Education / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cultural Management, Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, Tourism, Heritage Management, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualifications in Community Engagement, Event Management, Stakeholder Engagement, or Public Relations are advantageous.
  • UAE National (Emirati) preferred, reflecting the role's focus on community engagement, cultural representation, and strengthening relationships with local stakeholders.

Location & Commitment 

  • Part-Time (On-Demand).
  • Working 5 days per week, with flexibility to support operational requirements, seasonal programming, public holidays, special events, and emergency operational needs.
  • Regular presence across all  pavilions and facilities.
  • Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
