About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Lead for the Kuwait Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. The Operations Lead will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Pavilion’s daily operations, ensuring a seamless visitor experience and the effective coordination of teams. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in hospitality, events, or customer service, and a focus on operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
Lead daily operations of the Kuwait Pavilion, ensuring smooth guest flow and high standards of service.
Monitor and ensure the pavilion operates in compliance with safety and operational procedures.
Oversee staffing schedules, task assignments, and daily team briefings.
- Team Leadership & Development:
Supervise and motivate the on-ground team, including Hosts/Hostesses and support staff, fostering a positive work environment.
Provide ongoing coaching, training, and feedback to team members to maintain high service standards.
Ensure team adherence to pavilion guidelines, values, and objectives.
- Guest Experience:
Oversee guest interactions to ensure a memorable and positive experience for all visitors.
Act as a key point of contact for VIP guests, media, and official stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and coordination.
Handle escalated visitor complaints, inquiries, and feedback in a professional and solution-oriented manner.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to visitor satisfaction, operational efficiency, and staff performance.
Report any incidents or issues and provide feedback to improve service quality.
Prepare daily and weekly reports on operations, incidents, and team performance.
Collaborate with senior management to implement strategies for continual improvement.
- Safety & Compliance:
Ensure that health, safety, and emergency protocols are strictly adhered to.
Coordinate with security and facilities teams to maintain a clean, safe, and organized pavilion.
Oversee crowd management and emergency evacuation procedures when necessary.
- Coordination with Pavilion Management:
Work closely with Pavilion leadership and BLR WORLD’s central operations team to align on goals, priorities, and challenges.
Stay updated on any changes to the pavilion content, exhibitions, or programming, ensuring smooth communication to staff and visitors.
Requirements:
- Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, hospitality management, events, or customer service leadership roles.
Proven ability to manage large teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Skills:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
Fluent in English and Japanese; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus.
Understanding of Kuwaiti culture and traditions is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills.
- Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and manage physically demanding tasks.
Comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.- Eligibility: Must be legally eligible to work in Japan.
