About the role

This role is an amazing opportunity to work in the Country Pavilion as a Technician for the operation and maintenance of a country Pavillion at World Expo 2025. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and an understanding of technical set-ups at events, exhibitions and public spaces. You will be responsible for ensuring the Pavillion is maintained and operating as per operational plans and procedures. As we have two openings, each person on the team has their own specialty (e.g. AV, lighting, electricals, interactive systems etc.)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the desired operational functions for the exhibition are always achieved and sustained.

  • Organize and assist in the maintenance and repair of the Pavillion, ensuring that all fixtures and equipment are working and maintained at all times.

  • In the event of equipment failure or malfunctions, be able to assess the most appropriate course of action e.g. in-house repairs, external contracting, seek internal opinion etc.

  • Experience in preventive and reactive maintenance of exhibitions and public spaces.

  • Participates in operational coverage to ensure a technical staff member is always available during exhibition operating hours.

  • Share a 24-hour on-call response with the Technical Team and Project Manager.

  • Perform routine functionality and safety checks, conduct regular reviews of Pavillion space and implement corrective actions to address issues.

  • Ensure all safety, quality, and compliance standards are adhered to.

  • Prepare and maintain regular operation/maintenance reports and any accidental reports.

  • Support the Pavillion management team in any other related tasks as may be requested.


Requirements:

  • 2+ years of hands-on mechanical/technical experience, ability to inspect structures and/or equipment thoroughly, ability to plan repairs effectively and safely.

  • An expertise in any of the following areas: AV, lighting, electricals, interactive systems etc.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Familiarity with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize with little supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Flexibility in working hours during the live event phase will be required.

  • Working hours, shifts and rest days scheduling to be discussed.

  • Bilingual in English/Japanese preferred but not required.
