About the role

BLR WORLD is hiring a Visitor Services Training and Excellence Manager for composing content, scheduling and delivering training to the Visitor Services team and to staff who will interact with the visitors. The training programme will begin with induction, but we aim to have daily “bitesize” sessions and ongoing training to keep staff engaged, continuously developing, up to date and positive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the training schedule for the Visitor Services team, which will need to work around operational requirements.
  • Devise training subjects, content and session structures.

  • Monitor staff training records to ensure that mandatory training and certification is up to date.
  • Report on training outcomes and budget.

  • Organise the necessary resources for training sessions, including room and resource booking.
  • Manage guest speakers/trainers.

  • Request and coordinate training sessions from other departments.

  • Work with the VS Section Head to develop the ongoing training strategy.
  • Analyse and report on customer satisfaction, using findings to develop strategies for improvement.
  • Cover other VS positions when required.

  • Any other duties in line with the role’s function as requested by the VS Section Head

Required Experience

  • Experience of working in a cultural environment in a supervisory or management position
  • Minimum 3yrs experience of composing and delivering training to large groups in a cultural, hospitality or customer facing environment.
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to pick up new software quickly

  • Fluent Arabic and English written and spoken

Preferred Experience:

  • Additional languages is an advantage

  • Experience of working in a museum or tourist attraction

Required Education / Qualifications

  • Degree-level in a relevant subject, e.g. tourism, art, history, museum studies, arts administration, hospitality, training, education
