The Opportunity

We are GROWING so we're seeking an experienced Legal Assistant / Employment Litigation to support our attorneys with case management and litigation tasks in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage/hour cases. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented, reliable professional who knows how to manage pleadings, filings, and discovery in California employment litigation.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and format pleadings, discovery responses, and other legal documents with precision and attention to California court requirements
  • File and serve documents in California state and federal courts, including e-filing through court portals
  • Manage calendars, deadlines, and case timelines to ensure nothing falls through the cracks
  • Organize and maintain case files (both electronic and paper) with meticulous recordkeeping
  • Assist with trial preparation, exhibits, and client correspondence to support attorneys in delivering winning outcomes
  • Support attorneys with research, document review, and administrative tasks as needed to keep cases moving forward efficiently

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • 25 years of litigation support experience (employment law strongly preferred)
  • Working knowledge of California court filing procedures and local rules for both state and federal courts
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Workspace
  • Familiarity with Smokeball, Clio, or similar legal case management software
  • Strong written communication skills with excellent grammar and formatting abilities
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail that ensures accuracy in every document
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with sound judgment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Relativity, Everchron, or other document management tools
  • Prior work in a small firm or plaintiff-side practice environment
  • Background specifically in employment litigation (discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage/hour cases)

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Full or Part-time 25- 40 hours per week
