The Opportunity
We're seeking a Legal Assistant / Office Administrator who can confidently manage both legal and administrative responsibilities with care and precision. You'll work directly with our attorneys on filings, scheduling, and client communication while keeping office operations organized and running smoothly.

What You'll Do
Legal Support
- Draft, proofread, and format legal pleadings, discovery documents, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail
- File documents via state e-filing systems, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
- Maintain case files (both digital and physical) and track all critical deadlines to keep cases moving forward
- Manage firm and court calendars, coordinating hearings, depositions, and attorney schedules
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff as the face of the firm
Administrative Support
- Handle payroll submissions, invoices, and light bookkeeping (QuickBooks experience a plus)
- Renew annual insurance and maintain compliance records to keep the firm in good standing
- Coordinate vendors, supplies, and IT support to ensure smooth daily operations
- Manage mail, scheduling, and general office organization with efficiency and professionalism
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a law firm or legal administrative role
- Typing speed of at least 50 WPM with accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with legal software such as Clio, Relativity, MyCase, or similar case management platforms
- Strong grammar, proofreading skills, and attention to detail that catches errors before they happen
- Excellent organizational abilities and consistent follow-through on tasks and deadlines
- Professional communication and client-service skills that reflect well on the firm
- Reliable, discreet, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in employment law or civil litigation
- Familiarity with Smokeball or Everchron practice management software
- Experience with QuickBooks or HR/payroll coordination
- Prior experience supporting a small or boutique firm environment
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate: $28-$35 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Part-time to Full-time (20-40 hours per week, flexible based on candidate availability and firm needs)
Work Environment: Currently remote; transitioning to hybrid schedule
