A specialized California employment litigation practice is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Counsel to independently manage active cases with full autonomy and meaningful case ownership. What You'll Do

• Lead assigned cases from inception through resolution managing filings, discovery, motions, and trial preparation

• Draft and argue substantive motions and briefs independently

• Direct discovery, manage critical deadlines, and coordinate with team members

• Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel

• Collaborate with the principal attorney on case strategy, settlement negotiations, and trial readiness

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Active California Bar license, in good standing

• 5-8 years of civil litigation experience (employment law preferred)

• Proven track record managing full cases independently

• Excellent legal writing, judgment, and communication skills

• Comfortable working remotely with strong time-management and organizational skills

Preferred:

• Plaintiff-side employment litigation or complex civil matter experience

• Familiarity with case-management platforms (Clio, Relativity, Smokeball, or similar)

• Experience collaborating with small, agile legal teams

Compensation & Schedule

• Rate: $100 - $115/hour (based on experience and expertise)

• Hours: 25-40 hours/week, flexible based on caseload

• Availability: Business-day responsiveness required; fully remote with flexible scheduling

About This Engagement
