A specialized California employment litigation practice is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Counsel to independently manage active cases with full autonomy and meaningful case ownership. What You'll Do
- Lead assigned cases from inception through resolution managing filings, discovery, motions, and trial preparation
- Draft and argue substantive motions and briefs independently
- Direct discovery, manage critical deadlines, and coordinate with team members
- Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel
- Collaborate with the principal attorney on case strategy, settlement negotiations, and trial readiness
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Active California Bar license, in good standing
- 5-8 years of civil litigation experience (employment law preferred)
- Proven track record managing full cases independently
- Excellent legal writing, judgment, and communication skills
- Comfortable working remotely with strong time-management and organizational skills
Preferred:
- Plaintiff-side employment litigation or complex civil matter experience
- Familiarity with case-management platforms (Clio, Relativity, Smokeball, or similar)
- Experience collaborating with small, agile legal teams
Compensation & Schedule
- Rate: $100 - $115/hour (based on experience and expertise)
- Hours: 25-40 hours/week, flexible based on caseload
- Availability: Business-day responsiveness required; fully remote with flexible scheduling
