Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management
- Source and evaluate investment opportunities through direct communication with entrepreneurs and executives in the Korean technology ecosystem
- Build and maintain a strong network across the Korean startup community, venture capital firms, and technology sector
- Manage relationships with existing portfolio companies with the opportunity to "own" multiple investments
- Serve as a value-added investor and thought partner to portfolio companies, assisting with customer acquisition, talent recruitment, and fundraising
- Meet with management teams and industry experts to identify emerging trends and investment opportunities
Diligence
- Evaluate investment opportunities across multiple sectors with a focus on AI, Software, Robotics, and Frontier Technologies
- Determine key investment theses and concerns, leveraging your network and firm resources to perform comprehensive due diligence
- Conduct thorough industry/sector analysis and company evaluation
- Build investment cases for specific companies, write detailed investment memos, and present opportunities to the investment committee
- Demonstrate logical and analytical thinking to assess key theses and risks, build conviction, and communicate findings effectively
Investor Relations
- Support LP communications, including assistance with monthly reports and regular updates on portfolio company performance
- Represent the firm at industry events and conferences to enhance visibility in the Korean market
- Contribute to the firm's thought leadership content and market insights
Key Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- 5+ years total professional experience, with at least 3 years in management consulting, investment banking, or other finance roles
- Outstanding record of professional and academic achievement
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems in unstructured environments
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through capabilities
- Strong team player with the ability to work effectively in a small team setting
- Genuine passion for technology and entrepreneurship
- Ability to balance multiple projects and work under tight deadlines
- Resilient attitude and openness to transparent and constructive feedback
Preferred Experience
- Product or operations experience at a high-growth technology company
- Technical background (Computer Science degree and/or developer experience)
- Demonstrated network within the Korean startup ecosystem
- Previous venture capital or private equity experience
- Experience working with international teams and cross-border investments
