We are seeking a Senior MES Engineer to lead and deliver cutting-edge Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions in the Life Sciences industry. This is a leadership role with a focus on software design, MES solution deployment, system integration, and project execution. The ideal candidate will act as a solution architect, mentor engineers, and oversee projects from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead MES projects across the full lifecycle: conceptual design, specification development, implementation, testing, start-up, and commissioning.
- Act as solution architect for MES deployments, integrating industrial processes with control, ERP, LIMS, and other systems (PLC/DCS, Historian, SQL/Oracle).
- Deliver whitefield and brownfield MES solutions that enhance operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and productivity.
- Manage project planning, budgets, schedules, task prioritization, and reporting for projects up to $1M.
- Lead, mentor, and guide engineers and technicians in technical execution.
- Support business development initiatives, including trade shows, associations, and client engagement.
- Ensure MES solutions comply with Life Sciences regulations: cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP5, S88, S95.
Required Qualifications:
- Location: Must reside in North Carolina
- Experience: 8-10+ years in MES engineering, 4+ years in Life Sciences MES projects
- Expertise in Werum PAS-X, Sepasoft, or POMS MES platforms
- Proven experience in full MES project lifecycle (design, implementation, commissioning)
- Strong understanding of system integration across controls, ERP, LIMS, historian technologies, relational databases, and reporting systems
- Ability to conceptualize, design, and implement MES solutions independently
- Experience leading teams and acting as a technical lead or project manager on smaller projects
- Familiarity with Life Sciences regulations: cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP5, S88, S95
- Aptitude for business development and ability to generate new client opportunities
Preferred Experience:
- Experience at an integrator or exposure to system integration firms
- Leadership experience with MES office operations or team management
