Workshop Manager & Technical Service Specialist – Gearboxes & Winches (Drive Technology)
Location: Ponchatoula, LA 70454
Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 + potential bonus

We are seeking a hands-on Workshop Manager & Technical Service Specialist with strong experience in gearbox and winch repair, mechanical troubleshooting, and drive technology systems. This role combines technical workshop leadership, customer service, and field service operations with a focus on spare parts sales, repairs, and claims management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sales growth strategies and strengthen long-term customer relationships
  • Provide technical support and consulting for drive technology products, spare parts, repairs, and claims
  • Coordinate inside sales activities, including orders, proposals, and customer negotiations
  • Perform assembly, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of gearboxes and winches
  • Deliver on-site service, technical inspections, and field repairs when required
  • Prepare quotations, technical documentation, and service reports
  • Conduct customer meetings and technical presentations
  • Ensure timely processing of orders within cost, quality, and deadline targets
  • Support contract review and sales negotiations
  • Maintain accurate documentation of service activities and market insights

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with gearboxes, winches, and mechanical drive systems
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills (shop and field service)
  • Experience in technical service, maintenance, or customer support roles preferred
  • Ability to work independently with a structured and reliable approach
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently (35%+, including international travel)
  • Proficiency in MS Office; ERP system experience (Sage preferred)

  • Background in drive technology, mechanical engineering, or industrial service
  • Experience in spare parts sales, claims handling, or field service operations
