Job Title: Business Insurance Sales Consultant – Commercial & Franchise Accounts (P&C Licensed)
Location: Urbandale, IA (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite/Week)
Job Overview
We are hiring a Business Insurance Sales Consultant to join our Affinity Sales team, focused on commercial insurance solutions for small business and franchise owners within national accounts.
This is a high-performance, hunter-style sales role requiring strong experience in commercial insurance sales, outbound prospecting, and consultative selling. You will be responsible for developing new business, managing a sales pipeline, and closing commercial accounts while working closely with franchise owners and internal sales partners.
The role offers a competitive base salary plus a performance-based commission structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage a targeted pipeline of small business and franchise prospects
- Conduct outbound prospecting, cold calling, and lead generation activities
- Schedule and conduct consultative sales meetings with business owners
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate Property & Casualty insurance solutions
- Manage full sales cycle from prospecting to closing new commercial accounts
- Develop relationships with franchise networks and multi-unit business owners
- Maintain accurate pipeline tracking and sales forecasting
- Collaborate with internal teams to share best practices and grow franchise opportunities
- Consistently meet or exceed revenue and sales performance targets
Required Qualifications
- Active Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance Producer License – Iowa or ability to obtain quickly
- 2–3 years of commercial insurance sales experience (SMB or mid-market focus required)
- Proven success in full-cycle sales (prospecting, pipeline management, closing)
- Strong consultative sales approach with business owners or decision-makers
- Experience managing or building a book of small business or commercial accounts
- Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling to franchise owners or multi-location business networks
- Background in commercial lines, SMB insurance, or affinity/channel sales programs
- Strong outbound business development (cold calling, prospecting, lead generation)
- Proven ability to generate new revenue through relationship-driven sales
- High-performance mindset with consistent achievement of sales targets
Work Location & Requirements
- Hybrid role: 3 days per week onsite in Urbandale, Iowa
- Must be able to commute within the Des Moines metro area (Urbandale, West Des Moines, Clive, Johnston, Waukee, Ankeny, Grimes)
- Iowa P&C license required or must be obtained prior to employment
- Local candidates strongly preferred due to in-office requirement
