Job Overview

We are hiring a Product Engineer / Manufacturing Technician to support high-tech CNC machining and precision manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role is highly hands-on and focuses on shop-floor engineering support, production troubleshooting, and new product introduction (NPI).

You will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to ensure efficient production, product integrity, and continuous improvement across all stages of the product lifecycle.

This is an onsite role with significant time spent on the manufacturing floor (~60%) supporting real-time production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, assembly sheets, setup sheets, MPPs, and engineering memos
  • Provide hands-on engineering support to CNC machining and assembly operations
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support shop-floor problem resolution
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) from development through production release
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of manufacturing equipment and process improvements
  • Ensure product quality and integrity across production stages
  • Participate in technical discussions with customers and internal engineering teams
  • Track and improve key manufacturing and operational performance metrics
  • Collaborate with vendors for equipment evaluation and manufacturing improvements
  • Support periodic travel to vendors and customers for technical and NPI activities
  • Work additional hours when required to support production demands and program timelines

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related) preferred
    • OR 5+ years of experience in a high-tech manufacturing/machine shop environment
  • 2+ years (B.Tech) or 5+ years (equivalent experience) in manufacturing or product engineering roles
  • Strong experience in CNC machining and complex mechanical assemblies
  • Hands-on experience supporting shop-floor production environments
  • Experience developing and maintaining manufacturing and assembly documentation
  • Exposure to NPI, production release, and mature product support cycles

Preferred Skills

  • CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools)
  • Aerospace, automotive, or high-tech precision manufacturing background
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
  • Experience working directly with vendors and customers on technical issues
  • Strong technical communication and problem-solving skills

Additional Details

  • On-site role in East Aurora, NY (no remote option)
  • Approximately 60% shop floor / 40% engineering office
  • Limited relocation support available; local candidates strongly preferred
  • Target commute area: Buffalo Southtowns (Orchard Park, Hamburg, Lancaster, West Seneca, etc.)
