Surgical Services Director (RN) – Operating Room & Perioperative Operations

Overview
Seeking an experienced Nursing Leader to serve as Director of Surgical Services in a high-performing perioperative environment. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for surgical services, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care across the OR and related perioperative departments. Ideal for a seasoned RN leader with strong surgical services background and proven management experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of Surgical Services (OR/perioperative departments)
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization for surgical nursing teams
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety protocols
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and clinical performance outcomes
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, and hospital leadership to improve surgical throughput
• Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and operational efficiency
• Support staff development, engagement, and retention strategies
• Ensure readiness for audits, accreditation, and regulatory reviews

Required Qualifications

• Active (or eligible) Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Surgical Services (OR/perioperative nursing)
• Proven leadership experience at Manager or Director level in Surgical Services
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Strong leadership, communication, and operational management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred (MSN, MHA, or MBA)
• Experience in large hospital or acute care surgical environments

Certifications

• BLS required upon hire
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire
