Senior Structural Engineer - Transportation/Bridge

Our Hunt Valley, MD office is seeking a Senior Transportation Structural Project Engineer to lead the design and management of transportation structure projects. This senior-level role is ideal for an experienced structural engineer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about designing bridges and transportation structures that shape our communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of new and rehabilitation bridge projects from concept through completion
• Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery
• Prepare contract documents, technical specifications, and construction phase services
• Coordinate with subconsultants, clients, and agency representatives
• Supervise and mentor design engineers and drafting personnel
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and project partners

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• 12-20 years of relevant experience in structural design
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Maryland
• Experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design
• Proven experience working with the Maryland Department of Transportation
• Strong knowledge of structural design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete components
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters degree in Civil Engineering
• At least 6 years of experience leading design engineers and drafting personnel
