Senior Accountant - Construction Industry

We are a fast-growing and established company in the construction industry, looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This is a high-impact, hands-on role reporting directly to the CFO. If you have a strong background in technical accounting, reconciliations, and GAAP compliance, and want to be part of a collaborative, high-performing team is this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger (GL), accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), bank reconciliations, and cash management.
• Own and manage the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with GAAP.

• Lead audit preparation and support compliance processes.

• Partner with HR to ensure accurate payroll-related entries and reporting.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and irregularities, improving processes and controls.
• Provide financial insights to support executive leadership in decision-making.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (Required)
6+ years of accounting experience with demonstrated leadership potential
Strong command of accrual accounting, GAAP, and financial reporting
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel; ERP system experience is a plus
Prior experience in construction or manufacturing industries (Required,  no exceptions)
Hands-on expertise with journal entries, audits, and reconciliation processes

Must-Have Skills:

• QuickBooks proficiency

• Full month-end close ownership

• Strong audit support experience

• Ability to analyze trends and variances in financials

• Background in construction or manufacturing accounting
