Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Sonography Program
Certification (REQUIRED):
- Must have one of the following:
- RCS Registered Cardiac Sonographer
- RCCS Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer
- RDCS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
- RDCS (PE) Pediatric Echocardiography
- BLS/ACLS certification required
- If RDCS (AE) or RCS certified, must obtain RCCS or RDCS PE within 18 months
Experience:
- Must have hands-on pediatric cardiac scanning experience or specialized post-graduation pediatric training
- New grads without pediatric scanning experience will not be considered
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed echocardiographic exams on pediatric congenital patients across multiple departments
- Collaborate with cardiologists to assess, analyze, and document echocardiographic data
- Support patients with complex congenital heart conditions, including post-operative cases
- Travel to outpatient clinics as needed to assist in pediatric imaging alongside physicians
- Serve as a resource for onboarding and mentoring new sonographers
- Ensure quality assurance by maintaining and monitoring ultrasound equipment
- Participate in staff meetings, quality improvement (QI) initiatives, and continuing education
