About the Role:
As a Heart Failure ICU Nurse Practitioner, you will provide advanced, evidence-based care to critically ill patients in our specialized Heart Failure Intensive Care Unit. This full-time, night-shift role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with cardiologists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive patient care to heart failure ICU patients under physician supervision
- Perform advanced assessments, order/interpret diagnostics, and implement treatment plans
- Manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions, focusing on evidence-based practice and optimal outcomes
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, and recovery
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other team members to coordinate and optimize care
Qualifications Required:
- AGACNP certification (Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner)
- Active Texas APRN license and eligibility to practice in the state
- Board Certification through ANCC, AANP, or AACN (ACNP-BC or AGACNP-BC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience (as RN or NP) in cardiology, cardiac care, or cardiovascular ICU
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with heart failure patient populations
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner experience in an ICU or hospital-based setting
- Strong background in Cardiovascular or Heart Failure ICU nursing
