Mechanical Engineer
About the job Mechanical Engineer
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will lead and support the mechanical design, development, and implementation of advanced mechanical systems from concept to commissioning. Projects include custom mechanical assemblies, ride systems, and attraction mechanisms.
Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical systems from the ground up, including components, assemblies, and installations using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Conduct mechanical stress, fatigue, life expectancy, and reliability calculations
- Perform risk assessments, FMEA, and hazard analyses
- Support system start-up, debugging, and final commissioning onsite
- Develop detailed documentation including system descriptions, maintenance/job plans, and test plans
- Troubleshoot and optimize hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Evaluate Class 1 parts for redundancy and risk mitigation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teamselectrical, controls, fabrication, and field technicians
- Act as Project Manager on select projects ($50k$250k), overseeing scope, schedule, and budget
- Interface directly with theme park clients to ensure project delivery and performance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 510+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, system design, and field implementation
- Proven experience with ride systems, amusement attractions, or theme park mechanical equipment
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design, material stress, and dynamic load analysis
- Familiarity with ASTM F24 standards and amusement safety guidelines
- Ability to lead projects and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness to travel up to 35% for onsite commissioning and support
