️ About the Role:

Are you a seasoned culinary leader passionate about food innovation and team development? We're hiring an Area Executive Chef to lead our dining program at the University of Jamestown and support four additional university culinary operations across North Dakota.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for chefs with experience in high-volume dining, multi-site management, and special events catering. You'll set culinary standards, coach staff, manage food cost, and help elevate dining experiences across multiple campuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Culinary Operations at the University of Jamestown and support 4 nearby campuses.
  • Oversee menu development, food production, catering events, and culinary training.
  • Manage inventory, food cost analysis, and purchasing using Food Management Systems.
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.

  • Support the recruitment and development of frontline and management culinary staff.
  • Regular travel to regional campuses required (some overnight stays).

  • Represent the company at presentations, special events, and retention meetings.

‍ What Were Looking For:

  • Culinary Degree or equivalent experience in high-volume food production.
  • At least 5 years of management experience and 3 years of functional culinary leadership.
  • Strong background in campus, hospital, or institutional dining.

  • Experience overseeing multiple dining sites and large-scale catering operations.
  • Proficiency in culinary systems, food cost management, and inventory control.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills.

  • Passion for innovation, flavor, and team development.

  • Valid driver's License required (travel is a must).

Ideal Candidates Also Have:

  • A strong track record of menu creativity and execution.

  • Experience in training and developing culinary talent.

  • Ability to implement and manage Food Management Systems (FMS).

  • Confidence leading culinary presentations and engaging stakeholders.
