About the Role
As a Licensed Land Surveyor / Survey Manager, you will lead field and office teams in performing land surveys, boundary analysis, topographic mapping, utility designating, and more. You'll also serve as a client liaison, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and manage multiple field survey crews and office staff

Plan, organize, and direct surveying operations across various projects

Conduct and review boundary, ALTA/NSPS, and topographic surveys
- Assemble field data, perform survey calculations, and draft legal descriptions
- Oversee QA/QC of deliverables, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance

Prepare and track project budgets, schedules, and billing
- Maintain client relationships and participate in business development activities
- Support and mentor team members through performance reviews, coaching, and career development
- Represent the firm at client meetings, public hearings, and industry conferences
Required Qualifications

Professional Registered Land Surveyor (PLS/RLS)

10+ years of professional surveying experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor's degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering is a plus)

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or InRoads

Strong understanding of federal, state, and local surveying regulations

Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

Experience with subsurface utility designating and locating
- Familiarity with LiDAR scanning, aerial photogrammetry, and sUAS (drone) operations
- Surveying experience with DOT linear projects (especially Georgia DOT)

Background in roadway and bridge construction surveying
Working Conditions

Office-based role with occasional fieldwork
- Typical office environment (95%) with standard lighting and ergonomic conditions
- Fieldwork may involve exposure to outdoor elements and lifting up to 25 lbs
