About the Role:

What You'll Do:

  • Lead field survey operations using state-of-the-art equipment and software.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors.
  • Interpret and work from construction plans and engineering drawings.

  • Accurately collect and record field data for boundary, topographic, and construction staking projects.
  • Ensure quality, productivity, and safety standards are met or exceeded.

  • Maintain survey vehicles and equipment in good working condition.

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with field staff, office staff, and clients.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Survey Crew Chief (or strong surveying experience, ready to step into the role).
  • Strong understanding of construction plans and the ability to interpret them in the field.
  • Comfortable working with and learning new survey technology and equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to work outdoors, sometimes in challenging conditions, and work overtime or travel as needed.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with municipal and private sector clients.

  • Willingness to travel for out-of-area projects when required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, kneel, crouch, and carry equipment frequently throughout the day.
  • Travel and overtime may be necessary depending on project needs.

Interview Process:

  1. The initial phone screening was conducted by an SRG recruiting partner.
  2. Phone Interview With The Company, Director of Surveying.

  3. In-Person Interview: with a 30-minute meeting with the Director to assess team fit and field experience.
