We're seeking a Mechanical Project Manager with extensive HVAC and plumbing design experience to lead MEP projects in sectors including education, government, transportation, water/wastewater, and aviation.
This is a hands-on role managing both technical design and project executionideal for a driven engineer ready to step up into leadership and contribute to high-impact infrastructure and facilities projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering of HVAC and plumbing systems, including hydronic, DX, air handling, ductwork, and central plant systems.
- Prepare and oversee mechanical/plumbing drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations.
- Conduct HVAC load calculations, energy modeling, and code compliance reviews.
- Manage all phases of the project lifecycle: planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource coordination, client communication, and quality control.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal mechanical and energy codes.
- Support business development efforts and participate in client presentations and proposal writing.

Handle project budgeting, invoicing, and financial tracking.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (ABET-accredited).
- 12+ years of relevant mechanical design experience, including HVAC and plumbing.

PE License or EIT with the ability to obtain PE within 6-12 months.
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and building load simulation tools (Carrier HAP or IESVE).
- Strong knowledge of building, energy, mechanical, and plumbing codes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Valid driver's license and ability to pass motor vehicle screening.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

Commissioning certification (CxA, BCxP).

Project Management Certification (PMP, CAPM).
- Experience with Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and P3 delivery methods.

Previous work with public agencies (local, state, federal).
- Familiarity with industrial mechanical/plumbing or fire protection systems.

Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
Working Conditions

Primarily office-based (95%), with occasional field work.
- May involve lifting up to 25 lbs and working in outdoor environments during site visits.
