We're seeking a results-driven Operations Manager to lead our 1st shift manufacturing team. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll oversee daily shop floor operations, ensure safety compliance, drive production performance, and develop your team through mentorship and coaching. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, you'll play a key role in maintaining efficiency, quality, and team morale in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Champion a culture of safety across all shifts
  • Conduct and document weekly safety toolbox talks
  • Identify hazards and lead corrective actions to ensure OSHA compliance
  • Execute daily production plans aligned with company goals
  • Monitor work assignments and adjust labor/resources to meet demand
  • Provide daily production forecasts and post-shift updates
  • Track KPIs including earned ratio, efficiency, and output
  • Identify improvement areas and implement sustainable solutions
  • Address performance issues and escalate when necessary
  • Support cross-training to build workforce flexibility
  • Track training milestones and onboarding progress for new hires
  • Inspect machinery regularly and document non-compliance
  • Coordinate with maintenance for timely repairs and preventative actions
  • Ensure the facility is clean, organized, and safe
  • Conduct daily team huddles and share hourly performance updates
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with the team and leadership
  • Coordinate with Scheduling, Materials, Engineering, and HR teams
  • Uphold company policies and expectations
  • Promote a positive, team-first culture
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching for growth
  • Maintain employee records and track attendance

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience supervising teams in manufacturing, preferably sheet metal fabrication or machining
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical aptitude
  • Proven leadership skills with a focus on accountability, communication, and results
  • Comfortable enforcing policies and providing real-time feedback
  • ERP system and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills
