Senior Electrical Engineer – Power Distribution | PE License Preferred | Energy Infrastructure

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Relocation to Tulsa, OK or Houston, TX after ~2 years)
Travel: Up to 50%

About the Role

Join a leading clean energy and infrastructure company as a Senior Electrical Engineer and play a key role in designing and optimizing power distribution systems for pipelines, compressor stations, and industrial facilities. This is a high-impact opportunity to lead projects, drive innovation, and ensure safety across critical energy operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical system design & power distribution for industrial infrastructure
  • Perform and review arc flash analysis and implement safety improvements
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE standards
  • Manage engineering projects from concept through execution
  • Work with high-voltage equipment (transformers, generators, switchgear)
  • Utilize tools like ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink for system analysis
  • Support automation, PLC, HMI, and real-time monitoring systems
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and mentor junior engineers

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related (ABET-accredited)
  • 8+ years of experience in natural gas, data centers, or industrial infrastructure
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Power distribution system design
    • Arc flash mitigation & electrical safety
    • High-voltage systems
    • Electrical codes (NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE)
  • Experience with power system modeling tools (ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Experience with FEED / EPC projects
  • Background in PLC, HMI, and instrumentation systems
  • Commissioning, testing, and startup (FAT) experience

Work Requirements

  • Must be willing to relocate after initial assignment in Pittsburgh, PA
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
