About the job Licensed Land Surveyor / Survey Manager
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Land Surveyor to lead our civil and transportation survey projects in the Middlesboro region. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise multiple field crews and office survey technicians to ensure project success.
- Plan daily operations, enforce quality assurance and quality control, and manage project budgets, schedules, and client expectations.
- Coordinate with VDOT and local municipalities on roadway, utility, and civil survey projects.
- Support business growth by contributing to proposals and cultivating client relationships.
- Mentor and coach staff through regular one-on-one sessions, performance reviews, and career development plans.
Required Qualifications
- PLS license or eligibility to sit for the exam within six months of hire (exam fees covered by the company).
- Minimum of 12 years of professional survey experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Extensive experience with DOT and municipal survey projects.
- Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation / OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local survey regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelors degree in surveying or civil engineering technology preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in subsurface utility locating and designating.
- Experience with LiDAR, aerial mapping, or sUAS operations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary range $85,000 $145,000, based on licensure and leadership experience.
