We are looking for an experienced and motivated Press Production Supervisor to lead our 1st shift production team in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role is critical in maintaining a safety-first culture, driving continuous improvement, and developing a highly engaged workforce. The ideal candidate will excel at servant leadership, empowering team members, and delivering exceptional production results.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Leadership:

  • Champion a safety-first culture, enforce safety policies, and conduct audits.
  • Lead root-cause investigations for incidents or near-misses and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all team members are trained in safety protocols and properly use PPE.

Team Development & Servant Leadership:

  • Coach, mentor, and empower operators and technicians to reach their full potential.
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive environment where every team member's input is valued.
  • Oversee attendance, performance, and enforce company policies consistently.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations and interface with union stewards as needed.

Production Oversight:

  • Supervise all stamping press operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and on-time delivery are consistently met.
  • Monitor workflow, assign tasks efficiently, and optimize manpower and machine utilization.
  • Troubleshoot production issues promptly to maintain continuous operations in a high-volume environment.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen, and process enhancements.
  • Analyze downtime, scrap, and bottlenecks to implement effective countermeasures.
  • Encourage team-driven ideas for process improvements, efficiency, and throughput.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and safety records; report KPIs to management.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to quickly resolve operational issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably stamping press operations.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and people management skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stoop, bend, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
