HR Generalist | Construction & Manufacturing
Location: Chico, CA | Full-Time | Onsite | Salary: $75,000–$85,000 + Bonus & Benefits

Job Overview:
We are seeking a California-based HR Generalist to lead and support HR initiatives across benefits, staffing, employee relations, policies, and compliance. You'll be a trusted partner to employees and managers, champion our Core Values (People, Safety, Quality, Environment), and help drive a high-performing, engaged workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Employee Engagement & Culture: Promote a People-First culture, reinforce company values, and support organizational development.
• HR Operations: Maintain employee records, assist with performance reviews, salary administration, job descriptions, and HR reporting.
• Talent Acquisition: Manage recruiting, job postings, interviews, onboarding, and offboarding.
• Compliance & Labor Relations: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and California labor laws, including union/collective bargaining agreements.
• Safety & Policy Support: Partner with managers to enforce HR policies, benefits guidance, and safety programs.
• Special Projects: Support mergers, acquisitions, integration efforts, and HR process improvements.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree or equivalent HR experience.
• Minimum 5 years of HR experience, preferably in construction or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR compliance.
• Experience in unionized environments preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Stable work history; candidates with short-term roles (<1 year) may not be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• Professional HR certifications (SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, PHRca).
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
• Experience with HRIS/ERP systems (UKG, JD Edwards), SmartSheets, and employee engagement programs.
