Medical Director (Psychiatrist) – Child & Adult Behavioral Health | 1099 Contractor

Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 (based on caseload)

About the Role

We are hiring a Medical Director / Psychiatrist to lead behavioral health services for a diverse patient population (children & adults). This is a hands-on leadership role combining psychiatric care, clinical oversight, and program development across in-person and telehealth settings.

Important: This is a 1099 independent contractor position and requires on-site presence daily (non-negotiable).

Key Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and documentation
• Provide clinical leadership, consultation, and supervision to staff
• Prescribe medications and review lab results
• Support behavior treatment plans (BTC) and clinical decision-making
• Oversee quality of care, compliance, and regulatory standards
• Lead team meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives
• Assist in hiring, mentoring, and evaluating psychiatric staff
• Collaborate to expand telehealth and in-person services

Required Qualifications

• MD or DO with an active Michigan medical license
• Board Certified Psychiatrist (Child Psychiatry required)
• 5+ years' experience with children & adult populations
• Experience with substance abuse / dual diagnosis
• Knowledge of the Detroit / Wayne County CMH system
• Experience with EMR & telehealth platforms
