Maintenance Manager – Food Manufacturing (Bread, Batter, Fryer) | Ponca City, OK
Salary: $130,000 – $200,000 | Location: Onsite, Ponca City, OK | Shift: 1st, 2nd, 3rd as needed
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance operations in a high-volume food manufacturing facility. This role is perfect for candidates with a strong mechanical and electrical background, hands-on experience with refrigeration and wastewater systems, and a proven track record managing multi-shift maintenance teams in food production (bread, batter, fryer systems).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage maintenance teams, ensuring smooth operation of production lines and plant equipment.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee plant modifications, expansions, and capital/expense projects.
- Maintain OSHA compliance, safety standards, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Ensure maintenance personnel have tools, training, and resources for efficient plant operations.
- Work with contractors and vendors to execute projects efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Respond to off-shift emergencies and provide leadership during 2nd/3rd shifts and weekends.
Qualifications:
- Minimum: Associate's degree or equivalent experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance.
- Experience: 5+ years of management experience in food manufacturing, specifically with bread, batter, and fryer systems.
- Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems and wastewater operations.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems.
- Proven ability to manage multi-shift teams and multiple projects under changing priorities.
- Computer proficiency in Excel, MS Word, and CAD applications.
- Self-starter with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Physical & Work Environment:
- Exposure to high-noise, extreme temperatures (-40°F to 110°F), and PPE-required areas.
- Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs; ability to walk, stand, and reach as needed.
- Must be flexible for long shifts, weekend coverage, and extended work schedules (up to 12 consecutive days).
Must-Have:
- Stable work history with 3+ years average tenure per role.
- Prior maintenance leadership in food manufacturing with bread, batter, and fryer operations.
- Experience managing refrigeration and wastewater systems.
