Controller – Mining Operations

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the mine sites' accounting, financial reporting, and FP&A functions. This operational role requires hands-on leadership, ERP implementation experience, and the ability to drive process improvement in a mining/industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on-site accounting, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
- Manage FP&A: budgeting, forecasting, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, headcount, and expense analysis.
- Oversee inventory cycle counts and accuracy.
- Track capital project spend and manage fixed asset capitalization.
- Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
- Support internal and external audits; implement audit recommendations.
- Prepare financial statements, compliance reports, and regulatory filings.
- Select and implement integrated ERP systems; improve financial workflows.
- Collaborate closely with site leadership and corporate finance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years as a financial leader (public company experience preferred).
- Advanced Excel and QuickBooks expertise.
- Experience with construction project management, agile/lean practices, and FP&A.
- ERP selection and implementation experience in mining, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of internal controls, SOX, IFRS, U.S. GAAP, tax, and transfer pricing.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills; hands-on operational approach.
- CPA preferred but not required.
