DeltaV Engineer – Life Sciences Automation | Kalamazoo, MI

Location: Kalamazoo, MI (Onsite, up to 25% travel)
Salary: $105K–$145K + uncapped bonus

About the Role:
We are seeking a DeltaV Engineer to design, configure, and implement Emerson DeltaV automation systems for regulated Life Sciences manufacturing. This role offers hands-on opportunities in system integration, batch processing, and regulatory-compliant automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and implement Emerson DeltaV control systems and ISA-88 batch processes
  • Engineer system architecture, HMI, historian, and control strategies
  • Ensure compliance with GAMP5, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11
  • Conduct FAT/SAT, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Mentor junior engineers and support technical growth
  • Travel up to 25% for on-site commissioning

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Electrical, Control Systems, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • 3–7 years of hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV systems and PLC integration
  • Expertise in ISA-88 batch processes and industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, OPC, HART, Foundation Fieldbus)
  • Experience in Life Sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of historian systems, alarm management, and advanced control strategies
  • Familiarity with Rockwell Automation, Siemens PCS7, or other DCS/SCADA systems
  • AutoCAD and electrical design experience
  • Mentoring and translating functional specs into software design
