Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader (PE) to lead bridge inspection projects in accordance with NYSDOT and FHWA standards. The ideal candidate will oversee inspection teams, conduct field evaluations, and prepare detailed structural inspection reports and load ratings. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer with bridge inspection and structural evaluation experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate bridge inspection teams, equipment, and field activities
• Perform field inspections, measurements, and structural condition evaluations
• Document findings and prepare technical bridge inspection reports
• Conduct structural analysis and load rating calculations
• Prepare repair recommendations and interim construction documents for flagged conditions
• Provide in-office support and analysis for inspection projects

Required Qualifications

• New York State Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire
• Completion of one of the following bridge inspection certifications:
• FHWA/NHI Course #130055 – Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges
• FHWA/NHI Course #130056 – Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges for Professional Engineers
• NYSDOT Bridge Inspection Certification
• 3+ years of bridge engineering experience (inspection, design, or construction)
• Valid driver's license

Work Environment

This position involves extensive fieldwork inspecting bridges and infrastructure. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and performing physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
