We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) Risk Manager to join our team in Boise, ID. This role is vital in ensuring patient safety, minimizing organizational risks, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The RN Risk Manager will lead risk management initiatives, perform investigations, and collaborate with clinical teams to improve the quality of care and reduce liability.

This is a full-time, temporary assignment with strong potential for an extended duration.

Shift: Day (8:00 AM 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday)

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the hospital's risk management program.
  • Review and analyze occurrence reports related to patient safety, quality of care, regulatory compliance, and insurance matters.
  • Conduct investigations of reportable incidents and collaborate with appropriate departments.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and facilitate peer review processes.
  • Maintain and manage the risk management information system (RMIS) database.
  • Prepare detailed incident summary reports and investigation documentation.
  • Identify trends and recommend safety solutions to reduce organizational risk.
  • Partner with leadership and clinical staff to support risk management assessments.
  • Serve as a resource for staff inquiries related to professional liability and risk issues.
  • Keep current with regulatory requirements and best practices in risk management.
  • Participate in quality-focused committees and contribute to staff education programs.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (required).
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with previous exposure to risk management preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient safety practices, and quality standards.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage sensitive investigations.
  • Experience with Epic EMR and risk management systems is a plus.
