About the Opportunity:
A well-established and growing construction services firm in the Roswell area is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager or Project Accountant with a deep understanding of construction accounting practices. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing the full spectrum of accounting operations from job costing to financial reporting within the construction industry.
As the Accounting Manager, you will be a key leader in maintaining financial accuracy across a portfolio of commercial construction projects. You'll oversee day-to-day accounting operations, collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, and provide strategic financial insights to support organizational growth.
What You'll Do:
- Project Accounting: Lead financial management of active construction projects, including budgeting, job costing, billing, and forecasting. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data.
- ERP System Management: Leverage Spectrum ERP to manage AP, AR, and job cost modules. Collaborate with IT and project teams to maintain system accuracy and alignment with operational needs.
- Accounts Receivable: Manage billing cycles, coordinate collections, and maintain healthy cash flow by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Accounts Payable: Oversee invoice processing, ensure timely payments, and manage vendor relationships. Ensure all transactions are coded and reported accurately.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements and performance reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow. Identify trends and areas for efficiency improvement.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain adherence to GAAP, industry regulations, and internal policies. Continuously improve internal controls to ensure data integrity.
- Team Collaboration: Serve as a financial partner to project managers and leadership teams. Provide mentorship and support to accounting team members.
- Audit Support: Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and assist with inquiries.
What You Bring:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in the construction industry
- Deep knowledge of Spectrum ERP and construction-specific job costing
- Proven ability to manage AR/AP processes and financial reporting
- Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective communicator and collaborator
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and related accounting tools
