BIOVAC is one of the leading sterile vaccine manufacturers rooted in Africa, with our core purpose being to "protect life". We are looking to hire a dynamic, passionate, confident, proactive and meticulous Production Pharmacist to join a goal-oriented team.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:

  • Completed B Pharm Degree.
  • Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the SAPC

NECESSARY EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE:

  • Minimum requirements:
    • Relevant experience in a production/manufacturing department.
  • Preferred requirements:
    • Completed internship in a GMP manufacturing environment.
    • Completed Community Service.
    • Experience in aseptic formulation, and fill/finish processes.
    • Experience in drug substance manufacturing (e.g., Bacteria fermentation technologies.)
    • Experience in high-speed labelling and packaging lines/processes.
    • Experience in visual inspection processes.
    • Leadership qualities and experience.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

Core Technical Delivery:

  • Production Management: Overseeing and managing pharmaceutical production processes to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in compliance with GMP standards.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed production records, batch documentation, and other required paperwork to demonstrate compliance to GMP regulations as well as Good Pharmacy Practice.
  • Equipment and Process Oversight: Ensuring production equipment and processes are executed to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in compliance with GMP standards.
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Implementing and updating SOPs for production processes to ensure consistency and adherence to GMP guidelines.
  • Training and Supervision: Providing training to production staff on GMP procedures, safety protocols, and supervising their work to maintain high standards of quality and compliance to legal requirements.
  • Deviation and CAPA Management: Investigating and managing deviations and non-conformances during production and implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Staying informed about changes in relevant legislative and GMP regulations and ensuring the production processes align with requirements.
