About the job HC Officer: Payroll and Systems

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
- Relevant tertiary education (Degree or diploma)
- Tertiary education within Industrial Psychology preferred.
NECESSARY EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE:
- At least 4 years experience within Human Capital.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration and HR systems management.
- At least 1 years experience with HR data analytics and reporting.
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll software (e.g., ADP, SAP, Workday).
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Advanced Excel Skills.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
- Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
- Provide counselling on policies and procedures.
- Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process.
- Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues.
- Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements.
- Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance.
- Support the compilation of data for submission of EE and BBBEE plans.
- Maintain and update HR information systems (HRIS) to ensure data accuracy and integrity (Sage 300 and Signify).
- Support the implementation and maintenance of HR software and systems.
- Provide training and support to HR staff and employees on the use of HR systems.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
- Generate reports and analyse HR data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and data needs.

- Design and develop data dashboards using visualisation tools such as Power BI, etc.
- Present key Business and HR metrics, performance indicators, and trends through visualisations.
- Utilise systems (e.g., HRIS, LMS, etc) to extract, analyse, and interpret business and HR data.
- Conduct audits of business and HR data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
- Identify areas for process improvement and optimisation based on data analysis findings.
- Assist with the processing payroll accurately and on time for all employees.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, earnings, deductions, and other payroll-related data.
- Handle payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports as needed.
