The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Linux systems, AWS cloud services, Google Workspace administration, SMTP, and Ansible, along with experience managing self-hosted mail servers. This role is pivotal in ensuring our infrastructure's reliability, security, and scalability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Linux Administration: Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Linux-based servers ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • AWS Cloud Services: Deploy, manage, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Google Workspace Administration: Administer Google Workspace accounts, including user management, security settings, and application configuration.
  • Email Systems Management: Understand and manage SMTP, IMAP, and POP3 protocols and maintain self-hosted mail servers, ensuring secure and reliable email communication.
  • User Management Protocols: Manage user authentication and authorization using LDAP and other related protocols.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Utilize Docker and Kubernetes (k8s) for containerization and orchestration to ensure seamless deployment and scalability of applications.
  • Configuration Management: Utilize Ansible for configuration management and automation to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • System Monitoring & Maintenance: Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure system health, performance, and security. Perform regular updates and maintenance to keep systems current and secure.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for Linux systems, cloud services, email servers, and other infrastructure components.
  • Security Management: Ensure the security of the systems by implementing and maintaining best practices for security, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.

The Ideal Candidate:

Key Requirements:

  • Linux Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing Linux systems.
  • AWS Cloud: Proven experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and related technologies.
  • Google Workspace: Experience administering Google Workspace environments.
  • Email Protocols: Strong understanding of SMTP, IMAP, and POP3 protocols and experience with self-hosted mail servers.
  • User Management Protocols: Experience managing user authentication and authorization using LDAP and other related protocols.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (k8s) for containerization and orchestration.
  • Ansible Proficiency: Experience using Ansible for configuration management and automation.
  • Scripting Skills: Proficiency in Bash scripting for automation and system administration tasks.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with shell scripting, Python, or other programming languages for automation and scripting tasks.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document procedures and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, RHCE, Google Workspace Administrator) are a plus.
