Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our team for an exciting full-time opportunity. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in backend development, a solid grasp of frontend technologies, and a track record of delivering large-scale, scalable, and efficient software solutions.
This position is fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to backend development using Ruby on Rails, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.

• Work collaboratively on front-end projects using React and other JavaScript frameworks.

• Participate in site rebuilds and large-scale system redesigns, optimizing performance, scalability, and user experience.

• Implement and manage GraphQL for efficient data querying across systems.

• Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following MVC, ORM, and TDD principles.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to break down complex problems and deliver high-quality solutions.

• Test and validate solutions using frameworks like Rspec or Jest.

• Proactively identify and address inefficiencies in processes or systems.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience as a software engineer with significant contributions to large-scale, collaborative projects.

• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails for backend development and React for frontend development.

• Strong experience in system redesigns or rebuilds, focusing on performance optimization and user experience.

• Familiarity with GraphQL for flexible and efficient data management.

• Full-stack development skills, producing clean and scalable code.

• Solid understanding of MVC, ORM, and TDD principles.

• Ability to approach problems creatively and think outside the box.

• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with a proven ability to prioritize tasks.

• Working on US/Eastern Timezone.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with technologies like MongoDB, Redis, Resque.

• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and Unix systems.

• Expertise in testing tools such as Rspec and Jest.

• Knowledge of SPA architectures and advanced JavaScript frameworks like Angular.

• Experience with performance tuning and scalability enhancements.
