Our client is seeking a skilled CMM Operator/Quality Technician for a Direct Placement opportunity with a leading manufacturing firm. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in quality inspection, with expertise in CMM operation and First Article Inspection (FAI).
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform CMM operation to inspect precision components.
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process, and final inspections following engineering specifications and customer requirements.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and height gauges.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure product conformity.
- Document and maintain inspection reports, certifications, and compliance records.
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve quality-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other quality standards.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions to address non-conformances.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers regarding quality standards and FAI documentation.
- Perform additional quality assurance tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- 4-6 years of relevant FAI and CMM experience in an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment.
- Experience with CMM programming (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
