About the job Electron Beam Welder
The Electron Beam Welder is responsible for setting up and operating electron beam welding machines to join metal pieces in accordance with specifications. This role plays a key part in the production process, including assisting in the development of new weld processes, and working with various departments to ensure continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup & Operation:
- Set up and operate electron beam welding machines to join metal components according to technical specifications.
- Welding & Process Development:
- Perform production welding and assist in the development of new welding techniques and processes.
- Collaboration with Production Supervisor:
- Work directly with the Production Supervisor to understand and meet customer order expectations.
- Quality Verification:
- Conduct in-process verification to ensure the quality and accuracy of welding workmanship.
- Issue Reporting:
- Notify the Production Supervisor of any potential challenges in meeting due dates or production deadlines.
- Equipment Monitoring:
- Monitor the condition and performance of welding equipment and report any malfunctions to the Production Supervisor.
- Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) Department to identify and implement process improvements, as well as work instructions.
- Corrective Action Resolution:
- Assist the QA Department in addressing and resolving customer corrective actions related to welding quality or performance.
- Inspection Tools:
- Understand and properly use measuring and inspection tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Interpretation of Technical Documents:
- Read and interpret part drawings, blueprints, and specifications to accurately perform welding tasks.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education:
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, with additional technical training preferred.
- Experience:
- 3 years Experience with Electron Beam Welding (EB Welding) or Laser Welding is required.
- Skills:
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with welding equipment and measurement/inspection tools.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills, particularly in addressing production challenges and quality assurance.

- The role requires attention to detail, ability to work with precision tools, and adherence to safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
