Overview:
Our client, a premier OEM manufacturer, is looking for an experienced CMM Operator / Quality Technician to join their team on 2nd shift. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented quality professional with a strong background in CMM operations, First Article Inspections (FAI), and visual inspection of precision components. Candidates should have 4 to 6 years of quality inspection experience, preferably in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to perform precision dimensional inspections.

Conduct visual inspections of machined and assembled components to identify surface and cosmetic defects.

Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process, and final inspections in accordance with engineering drawings and customer requirements.

Set up CMM programs (experience with PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar is preferred).

Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and height gauges.

Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and technical documents to ensure compliance.

Accurately document inspection results and maintain detailed records for audits and quality assurance.

Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.

Ensure products meet AS9100, ISO 9001, and internal quality standards.

Assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Support supplier and customer quality activities, including documentation for FAI submissions.

Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
4 to 6 years of experience in quality inspection, including CMM operation, FAI, and visual inspection in a manufacturing or OEM setting.

Experience programming and operating CMM equipment (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar platforms).

Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.

Skilled in using standard inspection tools and precision measuring equipment.

Familiarity with OEM standards and aerospace quality systems.

High attention to detail and excellent documentation habits.

Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

High School Diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications are a plus.

Able to lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
