BestLogic Staffing is recruiting a hands-on, detail-oriented NAS-410 NDT Level II Technician qualified in one or more of the following methods:

  • Fluorescent Penetrant Testing (PT)
  • Wet Fluorescent Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
  • Contact Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

This position will collaborate with the Responsible/Method Level III and other technical personnel to build and maintain a compliant NDT program supporting advanced aerospace and Submarine Industrial Base weldments. The program will align with applicable NADCAP, NAVSEA, ASNT, customer, and industry requirements.

The NDT Level II Technician will perform nondestructive inspections, document results, support program development, and train or oversee Level I personnel and trainees.

Key Responsibilities

Within each method for which the individual is certified, the NDT Level II Technician will:

  • Set up, calibrate, and standardize NDT equipment.
  • Process and inspect components in accordance with approved procedures and applicable standards.
  • Interpret and evaluate inspection results for acceptance or rejection.
  • Accurately document inspection findings and maintain required quality records.
  • Conduct system performance checks in accordance with applicable process standards.
  • Understand the scope and limitations of the applicable NDT method and inspection technique.
  • Provide guidance, training, and supervision to trainees and Level I personnel.
  • Maintain familiarity with the codes, specifications, and standards governing the applicable NDT methods.
  • Develop work instructions from approved general procedures.
  • Submit work instructions for final approval by a Level III certified in the applicable method.
  • Collaborate with the Responsible/Method Level III to establish and maintain the organization's NDT program.
  • Support compliance with applicable NADCAP, NAVSEA, ASNT, customer, and quality-system requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, welding, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Current or previously documented NAS-410 Level II qualification or certification in one or more of the following methods:
    • Fluorescent PT
    • Wet Fluorescent MT
    • Contact UT
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NDT equipment setup, calibration, processing, interpretation, evaluation, and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of relevant NDT codes, specifications, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
  • Basic knowledge of product manufacturing processes, weldments, materials, and inspection technology.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to follow safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in an on-site environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a Jaeger J-1 visual acuity examination and any applicable color-perception requirements.
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to meet applicable U.S. defense program and contractual requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical or vocational training in nondestructive testing, welding, materials science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience inspecting aerospace, defense, naval, or Submarine Industrial Base components.
  • Experience with advanced or critical weldments.
  • Familiarity with NADCAP, NAVSEA, and ASNT requirements.
  • Experience developing an NDT program or supporting a program from its initial stages.
  • Experience training, administering, or qualifying NDT personnel.
  • Qualification in multiple NDT methods.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on, on-site position in a modern manufacturing and inspection environment. The successful candidate must be comfortable working around industrial equipment, manufactured components, weldments, inspection chemicals, and NDT equipment while following all applicable safety procedures.
