Full job description
Duties and responsibilities
- Oversee the overall management of the OSH program in coordination with the OSH committee.
- Frequently monitor and inspect any health or safety aspect of the operation being undertaken with the participation of supervisors and workers.
- Assist government inspectors in the conduct of safety and health inspection at any time whenever work is being performed or during the conduct of an accident investigation by providing necessary information and OSH reports as required by the OSH standards.
- Issue Work Stoppage Order (WSO) when necessary based on the requirements and procedures provided by the OSH standards.
- Conducts Mandatory Employees Safety & Health Orientation. (8 hrs)
- Ensures and monitors compliance with company policies, procedures, Project plans, and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards.
- Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
- Prepare educational seminars and webinars on a regular basis.
- Conducts regular HIRAC (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment and Control) on site.
- Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes.
- Oversee workplace repair, installations, and any other work that could harm employees' safety.
- Manages BCP channel by providing hourly or daily updates on calamities such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, typhoons, pandemics, flooding, transport strikes, threats, etc.
- Serves as the main point of contact for DOLE and in any type of emergency in his area.
- Provides and/or suggests inputs for the improvement of HSE policies and the annual OSH Program of the Company.
- Ensures timely submission of OSH reports in your area of responsibility:
- Report on Safety and Health Organization (RSHO)
- Annual Medical Report (AMR)
- Annual Exposure Data Report (AEDR)
- Monthly Work Accident/ Illness Report (WAIR)
- Works closely with Admin & Facilities on Workers' Welfare Facilities.
- Keeps track of the latest updates and department orders related to OSH.
- Ensure emergency response procedures are in place and known to personnel and engage in bi-annual emergency response drills.
- Participate in weekly or as-needed catch-up meetings with HSE team members.
- Facilitates administration of first aid to an injured employee, and transport to clinic or hospital: may be tasked to perform first aid and employ basic life support as necessary.
- Familiarize with the regulatory requirement in construction works and activities and determines the role of the Safety Officer in its compliance.
Qualifications
- Must be Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) certified
- With a valid certificate in Occupational First Aid and Basic Life Support - CPR
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in the construction industry
